Beth Mitchner, Psy.D.
Clinical Psychologist
Hello, and welcome to my psychotherapy practice. I am a licensed clinical psychologist, providing individual therapy for adults in San Francisco.
I work with people on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, relationships (romantic, parental, sibling, professional), self-esteem, and life transitions. I have a particular passion for and expertise in working with people affected by cancer, as well as end of life and grief/bereavement issues. I have worked closely with the Women's Cancer Resource Center and the Cancer Support Community providing individual and group psychotherapy.
I believe that we heal and grow best in a welcoming and supportive environment. My goal is to create a safe space where we can explore together your thoughts and feelings and guide you to a place of deeper self-understanding of your strengths and challenges. Often, this process will enable you to find new ways for dealing with problems, experience more fulfilling relationships, and be more effective in recognizing and meeting your needs, and realizing your desires, and aspirations. These changes reduce discomfort and stress and allow you to feel more alive and fulfilled.
My hope is that you develop greater compassion for yourself and others, and gain a deeper sense of contentment and meaning in your life.
I consider myself an integrative therapist, drawing from psychodynamic, relational, mindfulness and cognitive principles, depending on your individual needs. My therapeutic style is warm, active and collaborative.
If you are interested, please call and we can schedule an appointment to see if we are a good fit.
